Biomimetic Strontium Substituted Calcium Phosphate Coating for Bone Regeneration

Cellulose acetate (CA)/strontium phosphate (SrP) hybrid coating has been proposed as an effective strategy to build up novel bone-like structures for bone healing since CA is soluble in most organic solvents. Strontium (Sr2+) reported a potential agent treat degenerative diseases due its osteopromotive and antibacterial effects. Herein, bioactive composite SrP-based coatings (CASrP) were successfully produced the first time. CASrP was synthesized via modified biomimetic method (for 7—CA7dSrP, 14 days—CA14dSrP), which metal ion Sr2+ used place of Ca2+ simulated body fluid. Energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis confirmed SrP incorporation chemically samples. Atomic absorption (AAS) supported EDX data, showing adsorption into CA, significant increase with augmentation time treatment (ca. 92%—CA7dSrP 96%—CA14dSrP). An increment porosity formation crystals evidenced by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. diffraction (XRD) greater crystallinity than membranes destabilization CA14dSrP structure compared CA7dSrP. The composites extremely biocompatible fibroblast osteoblast cells. In conclusion, findings elucidated here evidence remarkable on development implant devices inducing regeneration.
